Each year the Bucket Regatta designates a portion of the entry fee for donation to a meaningful non-profit program in St Barths.
2024 Official Charity
The St Barths Bucket has proudly made many contributions to worthy St Barths causes over the years. A portion of the entry fee and proceeds from the sale of the popular Bucket posters go to local charities.
The 2024 donation will be made to a most worthwhile one: The Youth Sailing Program at the St Barths Yacht Club (SBYC). SBYC is an active sailing school with the youth of St Barths a major focus. Every year, hundreds of children learn to respect each other and their environment. They also learn responsibility and cooperation in the pursuit of these goals.
SBYC is not a conventional yacht club. Resources and budgets are far more limited than what one would expect to find in a typical yacht club. The safety and maintenance of boats in the children’s fleet is an important priority for the SBYC.
In addition to a monetary donation to support their operations, 2024 will again include a robotic mark. The Bucket will purchase and donate a second robotic mark, which will be used by the club and hopefully at all regattas in St Barths. Robotic marks are increasingly prevalent in sailboat racing and represent a strong commitment to the environment. They reduce the need for mark boats, decreasing engine pollution and environmental damage to the sea floor by anchors.
The SBYC and their members play an active role as on-water and shoreside volunteers at the Bucket each year.
Space Gallery St Barth is proud to partner with the Bucket Regatta for the seventh year running to offer the limited edition 2024 poster. The commemorative Bucket Poster will be available exclusively at Space Gallery and was designed for the third consecutive year by Hermès’ in-house designers. The poster has become a collector’s item for visitors to the island and aficionados of the annual regatta. The poster is a limited, numbered edition of only 250 offered for sale this year. It is priced at 100 euros and will officially go on sale on Monday, 11 March, directly at the Space Contemporary Art Gallery, which is located on Carré D’Or between Hermès and Cartier.
2023 Official Charity
The St Barths Bucket has proudly made many contributions to worthy St Barths causes over the years. A portion of the entry fee and proceeds from the sale of the popular Bucket posters go to local charities.

Limited edition posters are primarily available for sale at Space Gallery St Barth. The gallery graciously donates significant time and energy handling the sales. Posters will also be available at the regatta village.
2022 Official Charities
The St Barths Bucket is proud of the contributions made to worthy causes in St Barths over the years. A portion of the entry fee and proceeds from the sale of the popular Bucket posters go to local charities.
The 2022 donations will be made to two most worthwhile causes: The Youth Sailing Program at the St Barths Yacht Club (SBYC) and The Territorial Fire and Rescue Service (STIS) of Saint-Barthélemy.
SBYC is an active sailing school and their priority is the youth of St Barths. Every year, over 400 children learn to respect each other and their environment. They also learn how to be responsible and cooperative in the pursuit of their goals. SBYC is not a conventional yacht club. Resources and budgets are far more limited than what one would expect to find in a typical club.
The rescue system on the island of Saint-Barthélemy is made up, as in almost all of France, of 80% of volunteer firefighters. Every day the volunteer firefighters show altruism, solidarity and dedication by participating in all the interventions of the Territorial Fire and Rescue Service (STIS) of Saint-Barthélemy. The Bucket donation will help with critical equipment purchases and training. Rescue, fire fighting, other operations such as floods, animal risks, or road rescue, are all areas in which firefighters are trained.
Limited edition posters were available for sale at Space Gallery St Barth. The gallery graciously donates their time and energy handling the sales. Presale posters were available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

2020 Official Charities
The St Barths Bucket is proud of the contributions made to worthy causes in St Barths. A portion of the entry fee and proceeds from the sale of the popular Bucket posters go to local charities.
For 2020, the entry portion will be donated to two most worthwhile causes: The Saint Barth Handicap Association (SBHA) and the Galops des Iles Equestrian Center Association. Both are still working to recover from serious damage caused by Hurricane Irma.
The stated mission of the Saint Barth Handicap Association (SBHA) is to help the disabled people of the island and their families; and to raise public awareness and a spirit of solidarity for handicap issues. There are sixty island residents who could benefit from medico-social services but current funding can provide for only a very small number. St Barth Collectivité has committed land for a future structure to replace the one destroyed by the hurricane, but the SBHA is currently focusing on critical immediate needs.
The Galops des Iles Equestrian Center Association is slowly recovering from the trauma experienced from the hurricane. With limited resources, they have persisted in caring for the surviving animals. In order to continue operating and caring for the animals, the association is working with the St Barth Collectivité on a unique Educational Farm Project. This project will help foster respect for living animals and educate the youth of St Barths.
Poster sales proceeds will be presented to the Youth Sailing Program at the St Barths Yacht Club. SBYC is an active sailing school and their priority is the youth of St Barths. Every year, over 400 children learn to respect each other and their environment. They also learn how to be responsible and cooperative in the pursuit of their goals. 2019
Help St Barth and Coral Restoration St Barth
The St Barths Bucket is proud of its annual contributions to worthy causes in St Barths. A portion of the yacht owner’s entry fee and all the proceeds from the sale of the popular Bucket posters go to a charity.
For 2019, the entry portion will be donated to Help Saint Barth — St Barth Initiative. It is the official collective of non-profit organizations that the Collectivité de Saint Barthélemy has handpicked to help the island’s continuing recovery in the aftermath of hurricane Irma. This includes reconstruction, victim assistance and helping nature take its course though the ongoing restoration of the island’s beautiful resources.
The Bucket has requested that 50% of the contribution be made to Coral Restoration St Barth — the association engaged in the restoration and repopulation of the damaged marine reef.
Allocation of the other 50% will be at the discretion of the initiative.

Poster sales proceeds will be presented to the Youth Sailing Program at the St Barths Yacht Club. SBYC is an active sailing school and their priority is the youth of St Barths. They offer many programs starting at very early ages. On an island, learning to sail is as important as learning to swim. Over 400 children participate every year. Here the children learn to respect each other and their environment, the sea. They also learn how to be responsible and cooperative in the pursuit of their goals.
SBYC is not a conventional yacht club. Resources and budgets are far more limited than what one would expect to find in a typical club. The Bucket donations make a significant and meaningful difference.

2018
“Help St Barth” will receive the 2018 donation
Hurricane Irma presented an early and urgent opportunity for the traditional St Barths Bucket donation. There has never been a more worthy, timely cause. In the immediate aftermath of the horrific September storm, we were able to help with some critical supplies and logistical assistance. Urgent needs included chainsaws for clearing roads and byways and tarps for the many roofs that were lost or damaged.
With the full support of the Stewards, the Bucket organizers coordinated stateside logistics and arranged for the purchase, shipping and payment of high priority goods and transportation. The courage and determination of the people of St Barths was, and continues to be, an inspiration.
Sales of the 2018 St Barths Bucket poster provided additional financial aid to help those most in need as they continue to rebuild and refurbish on this most beautiful island.

2017
The Youth Sailing Program at the St Barths Yacht Club
The St Barths Yacht Club is an active sailing school and their priority is the youth of St Barths. Here the children learn to respect each other and their environment, the sea. They also learn how to be responsible and cooperative in the pursuit of their goals.
SBYC offers many programs starting at very early ages. On an island learning to sail is as important as learning to swim. The St Barths Yacht Club tries its best to motivate and support its young people. Over 400 children participate every year.
The SBYC is not a conventional yacht club. Resources and budgets are far more limited than what one would expect to find in a typical club. The Bucket donation made a significant and meaningful difference.
2016
SBYC Children’s Fleet
The 2016 Donation was presented to the St Barths Yacht Club to underwrite the purchase of replacement boats for the children’s fleet. The current Optimist fleet is aging and only 10 of the 17 boats are in service. The contribution from the Bucket entries would replace nearly all of the seven boats that are no longer useful.
The SBYC is more of a sailing school than a conventional yacht club. Resources and budgets are more limited than what we expect to find in a “yacht club.”
Being an island, it is very important for the children to learn to sail as a practical matter. Sailing also enhances the children’s personal growth and development as they learn to respect each other and the environment.
2015
Special Needs Children Project
St Barth schools have 40 special needs students with various motor and cognitive challenges. Outside the school system, there are other island children with even more severe disabilities. The existing program facilities and services are not adequate to help these children and their families thrive.
This project supports the island’s first dedicated, handicap-accessible space suitable for assessment, treatment and coordinated support services, and provides the additional special educator and psychological services these children need to achieve greater autonomy, better school integration and a better quality of life.
The 2015 St Barth Bucket was proud to contribute to this initiative of the local St Barth Lions and Rotary Clubs.
2014
St Joseph’s School
The St Joseph School is a private Catholic institution that welcomes more than 200 kindergarten and primary students (ages 3 – 11). The school is one of the oldest educational institutions in St Barthelemy and in need of donations to improve the schoolyard/playground. The clay-coated sand is a health risk to the children and must be upgraded.
The 2014 St Barths Bucket was very pleased to be able to help out the St Joseph School and allow the children to continue to learn and grow in a healthy environment. In the photograph children from the St. Joseph’s School thankfully accepted a check representing funds that had been earmarked from Bucket registration fees for this worthy local charitable cause.
2013
SBYC Youth Sailing Programs
Representatives from the Saint Barths Yacht Club Youth Sailing Program accepted the generous 2013 Bucket donation. Each year a portion of all entry fees are donated by the owners to a local charity. Owners and friends of the Bucket are also making additional contributions. Director Ian Craddock presented to the donation to Marc Grisoli, SBYC President, and Helene Guilbaud, SBYC Administrator.
2012
Nun’s House Restoration
The 2012 Official Charity was the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres House in Lorient, a house that has had such a positive history and through the years has touched the whole population of St. Barths. The house served as a school and later as a residence for the Sisters. It had fallen into disrepair and was in need of significant restoration. The Sisters have been forced to live in the Rectory, which has proven too small and insufficient for their needs.
The goal was to have renovations completed by summer 2012. Our donations can help achieve the goal.
