Last night, at the Quai de la Capitainerie, aka Bucket Headquarters, the traditional Bucket Bash marked the third evening of entertainment. All have attracted many local residents and regatta participants. “Bucketeers”, as they are sometimes collectively known as, swarmed about, swapping sea stories and otherwise mingling; enjoying drinks and tasty bites; and strolling the Quay to enjoy a night sky lit up by the superstructures on several of the competing Superyachts occupying Inner-Harbor berths. Punctuating the energy were the soulful sounds of the evening’s main attraction: the beautiful and talented Tanya Michelle and her Tanya M. Quintet.
Every early evening after racing, winning teams of the day have been feted on the Bucket Stage and awarded some darn nice daily prizes. Could there have been some foreshadowing of who is to take top honors at tonight’s final prizegiving across Gustavia Harbor at the Collectivité de Saint Barthelemy? Possibly, but you never know who will take final top positions on stage until after this last day of racing. And you certainly never know who will ultimately win the coveted Bucket Trophy, because it can’t be determined by reading final scores and it’s held as a close secret to be revealed only at the very end. See you there!
