A group of people standing dockside, preparing for a tour of the super yacht Maltese Falcon. Last night’s Bucket Bash…what a blast, with more daily trophies given on the BMQ stage and more mingling and dancing enjoyed by the many Bucketeers – owners, captains and crews – who attended. Music by the Tanya M. Quintet included familiar tunes from soft rock to reggae and did its fair share of helping move the needle to max on the fun meter.

Just prior to the party, Bucket owners and their guests were treated to a tour of the Maltese Falcon, the world’s sixth-largest sailing yacht (88 meters) and one of the Bucket’s social (non-racing) entries. You’ve no doubt noticed her; for visual reference, she has three freestanding masts with rigid curved yards attached. To adjust the angle of the sails, the masts rotate in place and the sails become one giant panel to catch the wind. If that’s not enough to take in, the yacht – built in 2006 – underwent a full-scale refit on her interior and decks in 2023. “She is way beyond a pretty boat,” said one guest. “The engineering, not to mention impeccable craftsmanship, is other-worldly, for sure.”

Three sailors at the 2024 St Barths Bucket Regatta. Lots of catching up with old friends going on every morning and afternoon. Thank goodness for team uniforms so everyone knows which boats their old friends are sailing on this year!
