On behalf of the Event Stewards, our Friends of the Bucket, and the regatta management team, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2023 edition of the St Barths Bucket.
We remain committed to the legendary “Spirit of the Bucket” and are very happy that you are here to enjoy the unique balance of camaraderie, competition, sportsmanship and fun!
Magnificent superyachts from around the world gather once again for incomparable racing in the unspoiled waters off St Barthélemy. Many of the world’s most elegant and extraordinary superyachts will write another distinguished chapter in the history of this event.
Your support of all aspects of safe and fair racing is important and appreciated. There are many people who are committed to improving and supporting these important objectives. The ORCsy rating rule and VPP continue to evolve and improve each year as does the Racing Rules of Sailing’s Appendix SY. ORC and SYRA representatives are on site to interact and field any questions participants might have on these critical components of superyacht racing.
The Stewards and loyal Friends of the Bucket make a significant commitment to participating yacht owners and this celebrated event. It is their support that has allowed us to continue the long-standing tradition of excellence in a noncommercial setting. They all deserve recognition and thanks.
Our host, St Barthélemy and the Port of Gustavia extend their gracious and warm welcome to all of you. We hope you will take advantage of the many experiences that this unique and beautiful island has to offer.
Whether you are new to the Bucket or a long-time participant, arriving in St Barths and preparing to race and socialize is a time of great anticipation and excitement. Your Bucket team will make every effort to ensure that this is the best possible experience for all.
It is the yacht owners who have made the St Barths Bucket what it is today. We thank you for participating in the 2023 edition. I wish you the best of luck on the racecourse, and a most enjoyable St Barths Bucket experience!
