2018 St Barths Bucket Updates
10 October 2017
A month has passed since the Hurricane Irma left her mark on the islands. As we have stated before, the people of St Barths are resilient and the recovery progress is ongoing.
Many restaurants, villas and hotels plan to be “open for business” and ready to welcome visitors in November and for the holidays. The airport, roads, and port are open with services already restored to many.
The Bucket Stewards are committed to a 2018 St Barths Bucket that will provide all that this storied event is famous for: superb competition, fantastic shoreside socials, and the Bucket hallmarks of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
At this early date, we are pleased to report that over 25 superyachts have indicated their intent to enter. The entry list is posted and will be updated on the website on an ongoing basis. The Schedule of Events and updates are posted under the Racing link. Also 2017 Best of the Bucket Video and more here.

27 September 2017
St Barths continues to report remarkable recovery work. Many establishments are already open or planning to open in the coming weeks and months. The government and local groups are making every effort to restore all services and provide resources to reach their collective goal to be “open for November’s Thanksgiving Holiday”. Early responses to Bucket invitations are enthusiastic and clear. The 2018 St Barths Bucket in March will be another memorable regatta and we look forward an outstanding superyacht Caribbean reunion.
19 September 2017
We have had numerous inquiries regarding post-hurricane St Barths and what one can do to help.
How can one help and show support? There are a number of fundraising campaigns and here we list two excellent options. Both are working directly with the Collectivity government and the Red Cross and are assisting with humanitarian aid to many people.

Contributions in any amount will be gratefully received. They can be anonymous, but if you tag yours #TeamBucket or indicate your association with the Bucket in any way, they’ll be sure to recognize the special Bucket related support.
We will continue to provide periodic updates on the recovery and the 2018 Bucket in the weeks ahead.
A note to our Bucket Community
The people of St Barths are brave, energetic and resilient and the government and services are organized and moving forward at a remarkable pace. Much has been accomplished already. There is no denying the fact that Hurricane Irma was a horrible storm that did significant damage in the Caribbean Islands. St Barths took a direct hit and fortunately, there was no loss of life or serious injuries reported there.
We are waiting for an appropriate time to confirm plans with St Barths’ President, but it is apparent that the island of St Barths is very eager to welcome the Bucket this March.
More information regarding logistics such as provisioning and accommodations will become known in the coming weeks. We will also add some information regarding opportunities to contribute to the relief efforts.
With every good wish and prayers for all the people that has been in the path of all the recent storms,
The Bucket Management Team
